Phyllis L. Pattison, 79, of Sumner, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. Scott Duffus officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1st at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Phyllis Lucille, daughter of Leonard and Lucille (Rathbone) Jarchow, was born November 27, 1937, at Sumner, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner. Phyllis received her education in the Sumner Public Schools, graduating from Sumner High School in 1955. On March 6, 1957, she was united in marriage with Eugene Pattison at Union Methodist Church of rural Sumner. Over the years, Phyllis had worked at the Polar Club, First State Bank, and the Hillcrest Home, all in Sumner, and also assisted her husband with the operation of Pattison Masonry. She had been a member of the Civic Club, and enjoyed gardening, collecting rocks, and tinkering in the yard.
In addition to her husband, Gene of Sumner, Phyllis is survived by one son, Tom (Alisa) Pattison of Sumner; four grandchildren, Andrew (Trista), Shaelynne, Nicholas, and Cael Pattison; one great granddaughter, Sloan Pattison; one brother, James Jarchow of Waverly; four sisters, Barb Toussaint of Sumner, Julie Stevely of Cedar Rapids, Sharon (Bob) Ries of Sumner, and Lila (Tom) Buchta of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Timothy.
